About Me

working with kids to learn DSLR photography

I gave my son his first digital camera for his second birthday. Now that he is eight, we have upgraded from the toy camera to one of my older DSLR camera. He has come a long way as a photographer and has even begun learning how to do things with that camera that I hadn't even learned how to do. Learning how to take photos with a DSLR camera with my son has been fun, interesting and a time that I will cherish forever. We have created this blog to share everything that we have learned during our learning adventure.

Unique Wedding Photo Ideas

If your wedding photographer is fairly versatile with where they are willing to take photos of you and your future spouse, then consider using some unique settings and activities during your pre-wedding photoshoot. The pictures can be used to highlight your interests as well as your partner's.

Action Shots

If both you and your future spouse enjoy outdoor activities, then you should consider including one of your favorite activities during the photo shoot. Contemplate the angle that you and your partner will be standing or sitting or the amount of action that you would like to incorporate into each picture.

An underwater photoshoot could also add an element of mystery and intrigue to each picture, plus can be used to add a lot of bright colors and varying textures to each captured image. A treetop zipline adventure will add a unique height perspective to the photo spread and can be used to take a series of pictures that showcase you and your loved one traveling along a zipline that is located deep in the woods or over a natural body of water.

Personality Traits

If your spouse is very funny and you are rather serious, then you could incorporate these personality traits into your pictures. Ask your photographer to take a series of pictures that reflect upon each personality. Vibrant colors, a clown motif, and a humorous costume could be used to symbolize a funny trait.

A somber-colored backdrop, some inanimate objects that correspond with a subdued tone, and a fancy style of dress can be used to symbolize a serious trait. Pictures can be taken separately, together, or you can ask your photographer to coincide the dual personalities by using a series of props, backdrops, and clothing styles during a single photoshoot.

Shared Memories

If you and your partner attended the same school or if you met at your place of employment, then you should consult with the school director or your employer. You will need to be granted permission to use either setting during a photoshoot.

You and your spouse can wear the clothing that will be worn on the day of your wedding or can change outfits several times to add diversity to the series of photos that are taken. Tell your photographer about any specific details that will make each picture more symbolic of the past. Props, signage, or custom backdrops may be supplied through your photographer.
