About Me

working with kids to learn DSLR photography

I gave my son his first digital camera for his second birthday. Now that he is eight, we have upgraded from the toy camera to one of my older DSLR camera. He has come a long way as a photographer and has even begun learning how to do things with that camera that I hadn't even learned how to do. Learning how to take photos with a DSLR camera with my son has been fun, interesting and a time that I will cherish forever. We have created this blog to share everything that we have learned during our learning adventure.

Three Considerations When Making A Custom Photo Backdrop For Your Store

Every store, especially brick and mortar stores, needs to be active with online advertising. Today, people will go online to look for clothing, electronics, and even food prices before checking inside of the store. If you want to attract customers, you will need to engage in multimedia marketing and social media marketing. One of the best ways to do this with the help of your brick and mortar location is to set up a photograph area. Since it is common for many millennials to video or photograph their happenings throughout the day, you can set up a photo booth area in order to aid in marketing for your store. Here are three considerations that you should make when setting up your photo booth.

Provide a camera of your own

There are many smartphones that work well to take professional looking photographs. There are also digital cameras that take pictures and can upload them to social media via internet capabilities. Chose the appropriate camera and install this in your photo booth. Include a waiver release that states any photographs that are taken with your photo booth cameras can be used for social media marketing by your store. Customers will take photographs with your cameras and with their own cameras to aid in your marketing.

Make the custom backdrop your theme

It is important that the custom designed photography backdrop serves as the theme for your store. The backdrop color should be the main color that you use in your store's logo. Include the logo of your store all over the backdrop so that it is visible no matter how the picture is zoomed. Test out the backdrop in different lighting to determine the best light so that you can set up your booth lighting to take the best photographs possible.

Offer influencers a discount for photographs

One of the things that you can do in order to ramp up your marketing is to offer social media influencers and celebrities a discount for taking photographs in your photo booth. They should be wearing clothing from your store or displaying clothing from your store in order to help you market your products. Some stores will provide free merchandise via a monthly shopping credit while others will offer a customary discount for shopping at their store. Consider creating a program that will attract influential marketers to your photo booth to increase your photography output and ramp up your marketing.
