About Me

working with kids to learn DSLR photography

I gave my son his first digital camera for his second birthday. Now that he is eight, we have upgraded from the toy camera to one of my older DSLR camera. He has come a long way as a photographer and has even begun learning how to do things with that camera that I hadn't even learned how to do. Learning how to take photos with a DSLR camera with my son has been fun, interesting and a time that I will cherish forever. We have created this blog to share everything that we have learned during our learning adventure.

Having Fun In The Photo Studio: Old Time Photos To Make Family Memories

Whether you are on vacation with your loved ones or you simply want to commemorate a particular achievement, old time photos are a great way to bring your family together. From the outfits that you get to choose to simply trying not to laugh when the pictures are being taken, spending time in an old time photo studio will be something that you and your family will remember for a long time. The image that hangs on your wall after you spend time with your family will bring back the memories of the day just about every time you look at it.

Capture that One Moment in Time

There's a reason there are often old time photo studios in tourist areas. A great way to remember a vacation is to get a family photo shoot done. When you don't want to spend the time or money on a full photo shoot done with a hired photographer, you can still capture this one moment in time when you are on vacation by heading to an old time photo studio. Whether the picture is just you and a sibling, or you have a large family to photograph, enjoy taking a memorable photo of everyone in your family at this moment in time.

Have Fun Choosing Your Outfits

Play around when it comes time to choose your outfits, because you will have plenty of accessories to choose from. A well placed fan or old time pipe can make all the difference in your photo. Don't worry about the colors of your outfit, because the images will be printed in either black and white or sepia tones, which means it won't matter what color you are wearing at the time. To add humor to your image, consider wearing the clothes of the opposite gender to mix things up in the photo. Grandma dressed as grandpa can make a great family photo that you will talk about forever.

It's a Small Price to Pay

Even if the price seems a bit much when you visit an old time studio, remember that this is an image that is going to last a lifetime for your family. This picture will probably hang in the homes of everyone in it, and it is worth the investment for all of the great memories the image will evoke. Take the time and money to invest in an old time photo and you will love the image hanging on your wall forever.
