3 Things To Keep In Mind When Doing An Outdoor Maternity Photography Shoot
Maternity photos capture this special time in your life so you and your child can remember it for many years to come. If you are planning an outdoor maternity photography session, however, this kind of photo session is something you will have to prepare for. Take a look at a few of the things to keep in mind when you have an outdoor maternity photography session scheduled with a professional.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring extras if necessary.
Your outdoor shoot may involve several shots at several different locations. There can be a lot of walking around involved. It is best to wear comfortable shoes for the photo shoot for this exact reason. It can be tiring to walk all over the place in shoes that don't offer a lot of support, and a lot of dress shoes are not all that comfortable when you are really pregnant. You can always bring along sandals or your preferred "photo" shoes and slip them on before shots are taken.
Bring along your own props that you would like to use.
Some maternity photographers will bring a few props to use during the shoot, such as an umbrella or some other item. However, they probably will not bring along a lot for an outdoor photo session because it is too much to carry with them. Therefore, if there are certain things that you want to be included in pictures, don't be afraid to bring them along. The photographer will help work those things into the shot in a nice way. For example, you may want a picture with something like the following:
- A pair of baby shoes, boots, or sandals
- A onesie with something special written on it
- An ultrasound photo from your most recent ultrasound
Make sure you consider the weather.
The weather is a huge factor in outdoor photography sessions, and it cannot be avoided. Of course, the photographer will schedule the shoot when the weather is at its best, but there are also some things you should do to be prepared for the weather. For example, if it is chilly outside, bring along a slip-on jacket that can be easily taken off for pictures. If it is really hot, bring along some extra makeup and face powder to thwart signs of sweating in the pictures. If it is going to be especially humid, bring some paper towels to blot your face.
