About Me

working with kids to learn DSLR photography

I gave my son his first digital camera for his second birthday. Now that he is eight, we have upgraded from the toy camera to one of my older DSLR camera. He has come a long way as a photographer and has even begun learning how to do things with that camera that I hadn't even learned how to do. Learning how to take photos with a DSLR camera with my son has been fun, interesting and a time that I will cherish forever. We have created this blog to share everything that we have learned during our learning adventure.

Having A Large Wedding? Hire A Photographer That Can Handle Your Situation

A couple that has a small and intimate wedding may not worry too much about the photography, because a professional will only need to focus on a few people in a small, specified area. But you may be planning a large wedding in which you will have a lot of family and friends coming as guests.

To feel confident about the photography service that you receive, you should make sure to analyze wedding photographers to find one that you know will be able to handle your situation.

Large Groups

When you are looking at photographers and their experience with weddings, you should find out if they have photographed weddings with a guest count close to or higher than yours. An even better situation is if a professional can show you photos from these weddings. This will give you an accurate example of what you should expect if you were to hire them for your wedding.

Although you may have a large guest count, you will likely only take photographs with small groups, which are typically easy to photograph. But, you may want a few photos in a huge group, so you should hire a photographer who knows how to fit dozens of people in a single shot. You will appreciate knowing that a professional can organize this shot in just a few minutes.

Age Ranges

Another detail that can have an impact on the wedding photos is familiarity with different age ranges for taking photographs. Finding a photographer who excels at gathering children together and getting them to focus on the camera can make your guests who have kids happy. Also, knowing how to fit your handicapped guests into photos with others is a highly valuable skill.

You want your handicapped guests to get excited when they look at the photos after the wedding because they may not be able to capture such flattering shots on their own.

Timeliness

Handling larger groups is tough because you want to make sure that everyone gets photographed. This is something that will be easier to accomplish during a lengthy wedding and reception where the photographer stays for the whole duration. A professional may even suggest a certain length that they will feel comfortable with providing a thorough photo collection.

Hiring a photographer with a certain skill set will help you relax during your wedding because you know that you will end up with an impressive photo collection. Contact a professional like Shea McGrath for more information.
